Katie is a Registered Paediatric Nurse, with a BSc in Psychology and PGDip in Systemic family therapy for Eating Disorders. Katie has worked in a variety of primary, secondary, and tertiary mental health settings across England and Aotearoa, New Zealand and has several years’ experience providing specialist eating disorder treatment in both countries.

Katie feels passionately that we all deserve to live content, rewarding lives, full of self-worth and with loving, kind connections. Although her passion lies in assisting individuals and their whānau to overcome eating disorders, Katie also has substantial experience in working with children, adolescents, young adults and families presenting with a wide range of difficulties including, obsessive compulsive disorder, anxiety, low mood, trauma, and those that are neurodiverse.

Katie benefits from being able to use her strong developmental and physical health knowledge from being a trained paediatric nurse alongside her clinical therapeutic skills when aiding families.

Katie understands that eating disorders have implications not only for the individual and but also for those around them and that treatment therefore needs to support the person as well as their family and support systems. She feels very strongly that full recovery from an eating disorder is possible when attended to with evidence-based treatment that is delivered to a high standard with a person-centred focus.

Katie aims to uphold an excellent standard of care and does so through a commitment to ongoing professional development and supervision.

Katie is trained in Family Based Treatment for Anorexia (FBT). She is currently accepting referrals for individuals living in the Bay of Plenty region and is providing treatment from a clinic space in Papamoa.

Katie is currently available 2 half days a week.
