– As well as specialist therapeutic treatment we offer specialist medical/psychiatric and nutritional consultations as part of treatment.
Individualised Treatment Plans
– All clinicians at NZEDC are highly trained in evidence-based eating disorder treatments and have a good understanding of the complexities of eating disorder presentations and possible co-existing conditions.
– Each treatment plan is made in collaboration with you/your family. We take into account the person’s needs and circumstances, including for those with neurodiversity and gender diversity, and adjust treatment as needed to best support them through every stage of recovery.
Support Groups/Coaches and Body Image Group
– We integrate clients’ support networks into treatment, helping them build a recovery-supporting environment at home.
– NZEDC has a regular parent support group for parents.
– We believe in including lived experience and can connect you with recovery coaches if required.
– Evidence based body image treatment groups run regularly.

Doing FBT in my anorexia recovery as a young adult was one of the hardest and most unbearable things I’ve ever faced, giving up control and letting my family take over felt terrifying. But I’m so grateful now, because FBT gave my family the tools to support me when I couldn’t support myself, laying the foundation for true healing and a life more meaningful than I ever imagined. - Lauren
What’s true is that autistic people respond differently. We need someone who understands autism, who can meet us where we are. And here, at this clinic, they have those people. That’s made all the difference.
